St George Trip

We took a trip down to St. George at the end of January to escape the cold and inversion. Here are our three big kids crowded in the back so they can all see the portable DVD player that Mark hung up with string. We left a snowstorm behind us in Lehi.
Kaylin loved when I would sit by her and keep her company .
We stopped at a McDonalds in Cedar City for lunch. They had an awesome play place. Kaylin had to get in on the fun.

We checked into our hotel at 3pm and immediately went to the pool. I love this blue striped swim suit that I think baby Claire wore once in a wading pool. It was so much fun to take Kaylin swimming. She didn't seem to mind the water but didn't enjoy it either. She was happy to chew on Mark's goggles.

Claire and Sean were thrilled to be back in the water. They practiced their skills from the swim lessons they took last July. It was nice to see them be comfortable with the water. Lukey refused to put on his swimsuit or get in the pool. I finally coaxed him in with the promise of two ice cream cones. He quickly started having fun. Mark and I loved being in the water with our whole family. We had fun passing Luke and Kaylin back and forth.
We stayed at the St. George Inn and Suites. It was an awesome hotel. We especially enjoyed the indoor pool, indoor playground, and the yummy breakfast buffet. Our room was the family suite which included two queen beds, a pull out couch bed, a jetted tub and kitchenette. It was clean and roomy. We would definitely stay there again.

It rained for most of the trip but we got out to enjoy a few hours of sunshine.

It was so nice to get away from the busyness of life. It was nice to have a break from laundry and dishes and work and homework. One of our highlights was seeing Frozen in the theatre. The big kids loved it. Luke sat in my lap with his hands covering his ears and my hands covering his eyes. We had fun singing Let it Go and What did the Fox Say in the car. Mark and I promised that we would take turns sharing beds with the kids. That will be the last time we do that! Claire would adjust super fast and smack into us. Whoever slept with Luke got feet in their face the whole night. Sean claimed the sofa bed and was happy to sleep alone. The second night Luke fell out of bed and threw up on the floor at 2 in the morning. We had all 6 of us up at that point. Mark and I just laughed. It was too crazy. We stopped laughing when the baby was still up 3 hours later. It was nice to come  home and sleep in our own beds the next night. We had a great time together except we brought home the stomach flu. Kaylin and Mark both started throwing up the next day. Luke and Sean two days after. Fortunately Claire and I stayed healthy. Poor Kaylin is still struggling with a sick tummy a whole week later. I would love to do this trip again next year minus a week of sickies afterwards.
