Kaylin's 1st birthday

Oh my, we had the best time celebrating our little princess's 1st birthday. She has brought so much joy and love into our home. Her birthday was on a gorgeous Spring day. Kaylin loves to practice walking along the sidewalk in front of our house. Here she is with her birthday daffodils. Two daffodils had bloomed the day she was born and when she and I returned home from the hospital two days later all the flowers were in full bloom. Mark and I like to refer to daffodils as Kaylin's flower. They are the first bulb to bloom in our yard to mark the beginning of Spring and a reminder of her birth.

Kaylin's poor Daddy has logged a lot of hours with her at night. It seems our amazing sleeper has not slept well since breaking her leg and dealing with a terrible virus. It's been a rough few months around here.
Kaylin with her entourage of siblings. They LOVE her!!
Here are the big kids helping Kaylin open her present. My favorite part is that she would swat their hands away when they would try to help her. This girl knows what she wants.
Trying to unwrap her Little People Princess Castle

I love the sisters playing together. Claire is so sweet with her baby sis. I hope they are good friends as they grow up.

 "Nice try mom."
Mark's beautiful creation. This cake had oreos inside and was delicious.
Singing Happy Birthday. I'm holding her hand away from the flame.
Kaylin eats treats with us all the time. She knew exactly what this was and was very excited.
Sean stood by with a wipe to clean off her face. He helped Daddy give her a bath afterwards.
Kaylin always gives Grandpa a hard time. He took his time and she eventually climbed into his lap. This was definately picture worthy. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for coming to celebrate.
Kaylin ended her special day by participating in her favorite activity of helping Daddy with the dishes. She bolts into the kitchen when she hears the dishwasher open.

Kaylin is a doll. At her well check appointment this week we found out that she gained 3 pounds this month! Her system seems to be regulated and she is no longer having problems with diarrhea. She is healthy and happy and needs to stay that way. Getting sick again could potentially be a serious problem for her. The first year had a few speed bumps. Here's to a great, healthy second year.

One year old Princess

I'm so glad we  had these photos done of our sweet girl. This first picture is my absolute favorite and is now up on the wall. I think we captured her little personality well.

 Love, Love, Love
