Buck-a-boo

This post is dedicated to my Claire! When I was pregnant with her I told Mark that I wanted a fun girl. Fun is the best word to describe Claire. She loves to play, run, dance, sing, swim and color. She loves cars and her baby dollies. She is very good at entertaining herself when I need to work with Sean. She likes to have privacy when she role plays with her babies and invites me to "move" when I check on her. Claire has no interest in potty training. She is too busy having fun. Claire is a bright child. She speaks well and has great comprehension. She knows her colors, numbers and can actually spell her own name. I love that when she eats a popsicle she has to tell me that it is cold! Claire is learning about yesterday, today and tomorrow. The other day I asked her if she was ready to eat lunch and she said, "not today, Mommy." Yesterday I noticed that she had not pooped yet. I asked her about it and she said, "I'll poop tomorrow."(She was right by the way!!) Claire cracks me up. Life is SO much fun with her.

This picture is a bit embarrassing for Mark but I had to add it because it sums up Mark and Claire's relationship. She is the definition of a Daddy's girl! Thank goodness Sean likes me.

7 months

At 7 months Sean likes to jump, stand, roll, sit up, tug on Claire's hair, play with toys, and be held. We call him our monkey baby because he latches on to our shoulders. Sean likes to eat sweet potatoes, pears and prunes. He is teething and just likes to be held most of the day. He is the best sleeper. Big sister is great at waking him up at some point in the night!(We need a third bedroom). Sean is still a happy, sweet baby. Everyone needs a baby like Sean.

Missing Bike Trailer.......
Our bike trailer has disappeared from our front yard. I noticed that it was gone on Monday morning. It was probably taken sometime over the weekend. Mark and I accept full responsibility for not keeping it locked up and have made sure that our other items are safe. If you live in my neighborhood please keep an eye and your stuff. I would love to believe that it was carried away by the wind but I fear we have a thief among us.

Daddy's a Doctoral Candidate

Claire and Sean are pleased to announce that their Daddy passed his Prospectus/Oral Exam and is now advanced to Doctoral Candidacy. Now all Dad has to do is write a dissertation and find a job. Hopefully a job within driving distance to all of Claire and Sean's Grandma's and Grandpas! Congratulations Dad! We are so proud of you.

Mommy's birthday!
I spent the day with these two!I cleaned house while Sean took a three hour nap. Claire helped by taking her clothes off and dumping gold fish crackers all over the kitchen floor. She was convinced that it was her birthday.

My sweet in-laws watched the kids for a bit so Mark and I could go out to eat for dinner. After the passed two crazy weeks, a dinner out with my husband was a wonderful treat. I had the most perfect birthday. It was a Mommy's dream! Mark came home early from Colorado so he didn't miss my birthday. The kids were in bed early and slept through the night. We watched a movie together without any interruptions. These are simple matters but the stars seemed to align yesterday so that Mark and I could have a nice evening together. I love that I got to spend my birthday with my family.
