We took a trip!! We spent 5 days at my Grandma/Uncle's cabin in Mack's Inn, Idaho. The cabin is about 20 minutes outside of West Yellowstone. We spent the weekend with my parents, 4 brothers and their wives and kids. Our trip last year was a disaster. Sean experienced great anxiety. He didn't sleep for four nights and was a mess during the day. Mark and I had just begun discussing autism and it was very apparent on our trip that Sean had more challenges that what we originally thought. It was a physically and emotionally exhausting trip. This year was the complete opposite!!!! Sean was a rock star!! We showed him pictures from last year and talked to him about where we were going. We know he is autistic and we are very aware of his personal struggles and how to help him be successful. We took a full supply of melatonin and he slept great! He even climbed into bed with me two of the nights and snuggled me while he slept which is my favorite thing in the whole wide world! Sean interacted incredible well with his cousins. He was able to communicate his needs to us and took breaks from the action when he needed to. I am relieved and pleased to know that maybe our family can start being a bit more adventurous. I am so proud of Sean and how far he has come in a year. It was a lot of work to get this family ready to go but look how excited these faces are!!
